Nicholson
Many projects introduce groups to the work of an artist - maybe a visual artist, a composer or a poet. This project was an introduction to the 20th Century British artist Ben Nicholson.
The temptation merely to create paintings 'in the style of' Ben Nicholson was resisted. Instead some of his themes and interests were recreated:
- selecting and arranging personal objects
- limiting colour
- enjoying surface
- transparency - drawing what lies behind
These paintings were produced by year 5 pupils.
